Wordle takes world by storm

Wordle is the new puzzle game craze, with millions of players worldwide. Players have six tries to guess a random 5-letter word, with a new one being generated every day. Released in October of 2021, it quickly gained popularity, becoming a phenomenon that people all around the world are now playing. It’s a simple game, but it’s difficult, making it fun for all ages.

In Wordle, you have six tries to guess a random 5-letter-word. It randomizes every day, so there’s a new chance to solve it the next day if you don’t get it at first. When you put in a word, the letters will flip over and will either be gray, yellow, or green. If it’s green, the letter is the right letter in the correct spot. If it’s yellow, that means the letter is in the word, but it’s in the wrong spot. If it’s gray, it means the letter is not in the world at all.

It’s loved by many because of its simplicity. It’s a free word game, but when playing, you aren’t bombarded by ads or asked for donations, and it even saves your progress. Players have started formulating strategies and trying to determine the best words to start with. Some of the words that people have decided are best are crane, audio, and audit.

Recently, it was purchased by The New York Times, but it’s not clear how, or if, it will change yet. The wordle website also offers other games, such as crossword, Sudoku, and spelling bee. These word games are not as popular as wordle, but they’re still very fun.
