The El Paso Walmart that was the site of a mass shooting on Aug. 3 will be reopened on November 14, after the date was pushed back.

In addition to the reopening, the store will also serve as a memorial for the 22 victims that lost their lives in early August.

The memorial is nicknamed “Grand Candela” as it will look like a chandelier with candles.

It will have 22 aluminum arcs, one for each of the victims, and they will come together to form a whole.

This memorial is a symbol of unity. It will radiate light to stand as a permanent reminder that the light of El Paso will never dim. This memorial will be located on the south side of the store.
