Predictions: Franklin v. Pebble Hills

As the last week of local high school football comes to an end, No. 1 Franklin looks to defend their top stop in El Paso against No. 3 Pebble hills for the undisputed title of the top team in the district. Ever since an 0-2 start, the cougars have picked tremendous momentum; they were picked to lose 4 times and a row beating every one of those teams in stunning fashion. The spartans look to take the no. 1 seed from the Cougars, as they’re known for their physicality and hard-nosed playing style.

The Cougars’ high-powered and star-studded offense includes Senior quarterback Cameron Byrd, Senior running-back Miles McWhorter, and Junior wide-receiver Beau Sparks.
The spartans have a weapon of their own, Sophomore quarterback Gael Ochoa, who is ranked in the top 3 in rushing yards, as well as in the top 5 in passing yards. Franklin’s starting QB Byrd (shoulder) has been limited in practice, though he’s still set to play in tonight’s game. Sophomore Shay Smith has been getting the majority of reps in practice.
They are facing off for a playoff home game which is rare to happen in El Paso.
