The Super Bowl is the prestigious championship football game played by some of the most advanced teams in the National Football League (NFL).
The Super Bowl playoffs start with 14 of the best teams in the NFL on a power ranking scale from the number one seed to the number seven seed and are matched based on what conference they are in. Wild card games start off the play offs where the number one seed in both the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC) have a bye week while the second seed through the seventh seed all play to secure a spot into the divisional round.
Here in the divisional round, the two #1 seeds play on opposite sides of the conferences and play the lowest seed that passed into the divisional round while the other two teams play each other to secure a spot in either the AFC or NFC championship. The conference championship round is played on the same day and determines who will make it into the Super Bowl.
This weekend the number one seed Denver Broncos play the number two New England Patriots for the AFC championship Both teams last faced off in 2015 when two legends of the NFL, Tom Brady and Payton Manning played and had a close game where the Broncos won 20-18. On the other side in the NFC, the championship game has the Los Angeles Rams with MVP candidate Matthew Stafford as well as the league leader in receptions Puka Nuka. They will play the Seattle Seahawks, who have Sam Darnold, who is the Quarterback with the most passing yards this season, and on defense have Ernest Johnes with the most tackles in the league and most interceptions this season.
The Super Bowl will be played in San Francisco in the Levi stadium and will be the second time it has hosted the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl will be played on February 8 at 4:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST).
