Advanced Placement (AP) testing is coming up, and many students still have not begun studying, even with the first test being only a few weeks ahead.
AP testing it set to begin throughout the first two weeks of May, beginning May 4 and concluding May 15. Which gives students less than a month to prepare for testing to commence.
Students are currently struggling with the management of the little time they have and how they can maximize it. For the next few weeks, students will crack open their textbooks and spend their nights completing practice texts. To make the average AP student’s life a little bit easier, there are free resources that can help them effectively study for their tests.
Learning Express, a platform devoted to test prep has detailed flashcards for each unit, practice exams, videos, study interactives, fact sheets, and online textbooks free for students to use. This can be accessed through the library course on Schoology.
College Board is the official source when it comes to AP courses in general and is filled with the official AP daily videos, unit guides, and progress checks. Additionally, College Board states how much each unit will weigh on the AP test to guide the student on what to focus on studying.
Khan Academy is an official practice partner for AP courses, mainly focusing on calculus, sciences, history, and economics (AP Physics, AP World History: Modern, AP Computer Science Principles, etc.). The materials offered by Khan Academy have been created by both current and former AP teachers and is revised by members of the AP community.
Youtube review channels such as Heimler’s History, Bozeman Science, and the Organic Chemistry Tutor provide concise, unit-specific videos that make understand complex ideas easier for students. Many of these creators even focus on strategies on how to tackle exam-specific questions such as free response questions and document-based questions.
